The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

I saw “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” on PPS last week. First, I accidentally saw this movie’s recommendation on a blog; Then I found it in the PPS. Surprisingly, I knew two actors in this movie, one acted professor Minerva McGonagal in Harry Potter, the other one acted the leading role in Slumdog Millionaire. This movie is about seven retired elders went to India traveling in order to add something different to their life. They were all attracted by the appealing advertisement, but they didn’t know how poor it was until they arrived. Although the equipments in hotel were ridiculous and their occupations before retirement were totally different, they solved problems together and found new point of view toward life.

A trailer and the midterm exam

     Today, I finished my first exam in the college life. Teacher was much kind than I thought before. He let you listen to another classmates' question. Though the questions were not exactly the same, what the teacher did did help a lot. Hope the next three exams in the next week all be fine.

     Next Wednesday, the film " Life Of Pi " directed by Ang Lee is going to be released. I saw the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7WBfntqUoA) , and it seems to be wonderful. Today, my classmate said it is marvelous indeed, because she went to see the premiere, and also saw Ang Lee! How lucky she is! I am going to see this movie after the midterm exam.

     By the way, I received the " all pass candies " from my senior buddy yesterday. This tradition is so touching! Wish you all pass and have a nice movie after the midterm exam!

camping

Last weekend, our apartment went to 貢寮龍門露營區 to go camping. It was very fun, but the cabin we lived was miserable! When we went into the cabin, the stuffy odor assailed our nostril at once, so we had to open the air conditioner. However, the air conditioner could only be stopped at 17 degrees. And the cabin didn’t equip with pillows and quilts. They just offered blankets which smelled like they have never been washed. Most disgusting of all, the toilet was out of work! The toilet water overflew to the restroom’s floor. After I experienced the ridiculous nights like that, I considered my dorm a wonderful hotel when I came back. Although the cabin was bizarre, the whole activities were full of joy! I treasure this memory forever, and hope we can hold a superb camp like this except the lived place next year.

I feel the peace and the love in this song. Hope you like it!

Of monsters and men

    Recently, I found a band called "of monsters and men" which is come from Iceland in Europe. I knew another band come from Iceland, too, called "Sigur Rós". I fell their styles are a little similar. It is a kind of far-away-from-the-city style. It may because Iceland is isolated from the Europe-Asia  mainland, and it has a part of territory within the Polar Circle. "Of monsters and men" is composed of one female and five males, and their music style is indie folk and indie pop. One of my favorite songs is the one in the Youtube top100, "little talks"(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghb6eDopW8I), and the other one is "six weeks"(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBtnnZX_jDU). I like the folk atmosphere in these two songs. It makes me feel just in the countryside and relaxed me a lot!
     This week, our department is going to go camping. Hope everything goes well and I won't get sick in those days.

New name and bathroom story

  One day, I took a shower in the dormitory bathroom, suddenly, a soap slipped from the nearby bathroom. I pushed the soap back to the next room; then I heard she giggled. After I finished washing my clothes, I told my roommate what happened in the bathroom; then my roommate told me a shocking story. One day, her friend took a shower in the dormitory bathroom and something appeared on the floor from the other bathroom, too, but it was not a soap, it was shit. How disgusting it is!

  I have a Arabic name “Shroq” gave by my Arabic teacher called Ghazi this week. It means sunlight in Arabic, the same as my Chinese name’s meaning. After learning Arabic for three weeks, I feel it’s hard. I can just say basic dialogue for learning almost a month, I feel a little frustrated! Hope be better in the future.
